| A rarely-seen Rankin-Bass animated production which aired on ABC on April 7, 1970. Skits include Flip Wilson paying tribute to Christopher Columbus; Jack Benny and George Burns having trouble with a bridge toll collector; The Marx Brothers re-enacting a scene from “I’ll Say She Is”; George Jessel introducing W.C. Fields; W.C. Fields trying to prove himself as an accomplished skier; Henny Youngman fiddling while joking about his mother-in-law; Phyllis Diller doing her own stand-up comedy; and Tom and Dick Smothers as traveling minstrels. 30 minutes.
Bonus: two Amos ‘n’ Andy cartoons from 1934: Andy gets “roped” into a rassling match, and Andy gets tricked into being a Lion tamer at the circus. 18 minutes. |
