| Fibber McGee and Molly reluctantly accept an invitation to go visit some relatives in Washington, DC. While they are there, they get to watch a session of Congress from the visitors’ balcony, but Fibber gets upset about the petty bickering and dealmaking to the point where he creates a disturbance and gets himself thrown out. His ire up, Fibber goes on a crusade to restore the power of government to the ordinary man. And with the help of Dr Gallup (of the Gallup Poll), he first sets out to define the “ordinary man.” 71 minutes.
Bonus #1: The February 10, 1947 broadcast of the radio series “Screen Guild Theater.” Jim and Marian Jordan star in a half-hour radio adaptation of their movie “Heavenly Days.” 30 minutes.
Bonus #2: The October 20, 1959 broadcast of the television sitcom “Fibber McGee and Molly” starring Bob Sweeney and Cathy Lewis. In this episode, Molly believes that the spark may be going out of her marriage after so many years, and she makes efforts to rekindle it, despite a very reluctant husband. 26 minutes.
Bonus #3: Two musical videos (“soundies”) from the early 1940’s starring The King’s Men; they perform humorous versions of “The Chool Song” and “The Hut-Sut Song.” 6 minutes.
