Texas Ranger Tom Morhan (Mix), a blood brother of the Ravenhead tribe, discovers that Zaroff, a ruthless villain who has learned that the tribal lands contain deposits of "X-94", a powerful explosive, is terrorizing the Indians. Zaroff and his men stop at nothing in their efforts to kill Tom and frighten the superstitious Indians, but nothing can defeat a dedicated Texas Ranger.

Reviewer: O.J. Sikes (Leonia, NJ)

When she was a little girl, Dale Evans wanted to marry Tom Mix when she grew up. That's not surprising, as practically every little girl who went to the movies on Saturday wanted to do the same. And the boys wanted to be like him. With his horses Tony and Tony,Jr., he was probably the most popular cowboy star to move from the silent screen to talking pictures. Years ago, I bought his only serial, The Miracle Rider (1935) on a set of video tapes. The print was poor, but I slogged through it because it was one of very few Tom Mix films available. Now, VCI has found a good print of the entire 15 episode serial and has put it on a 2 DVD set for all of us to enjoy. The set includes a Mix biography, 8 bonus serial trailers, a photo gallery and a chapter selection menu. You'll enjoy bad guys Charlie King, George Cheseboro and Charles ("Zaroff") Middleton , especially knowing that they can never win against Tom Mix, but it's fun to see each chapter's thrilling end. And you don't have to wait til next week to see how Tom escaped certain death!
