| This large collection of films boasts over 13 hours of footage centered on World War II. The segment "The Air Force Story" presents seven short films created by and about the U.S. Air Force. Next, "The Great General Series" gathers biographies on some of the war's foremost generals, including George S. Patton, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and General George Marshall. Finally, "Hollywood Goes to War" contains several films created by the War Activities Committee of the Motion Picture Industry as well as the Office of War Information's Bureau of Motion Pictures. Produced as a means to educate and influence the general public, these Hollywood-produced films often grabbed viewers' interest by featuring star narrators. Just a couple of the voices appearing here include Clark Gable and Henry Fonda. In addition, COMBAT AMERICA also contains the bonus features TEST PILOTS - PUSHING THE ENVELOPE, VOICES OF WAR, and WAR GOES TO THE MOVIES.
