While best known for his portrayal of Frankenstein, Karloff is an icon of classic horror whose velvety voice and creepy demeanor made him well suited to a diversity of macabre roles. This collection is a vast swath of Karloff's career, including many of his lesser known features that paired him up with Hollywood cult legends like Roger Corman, Francis Ford Coppola, and a young Jack Nicholson.

The Snake People (Color - 1971): The inhabitants of a small, remote island have been practicing voodoo rites and worshipping an evil priest named Damballah for years, but the local law officials generally turn a blind eye to this death cult's bizarre activities. Captain Labesch (Rafael Bertrand) arrives from the mainland, determined to crack down on the island's lawlessness and clean up the ineffectual, hard-drinking police force. He appeals for assistance from wealthy plantation tycoon Carl Van Molder (Boris Karloff), who owns nearly half of the island and wields a great deal of influence over the population.

The Terror (Color - 1963): France, 18th century. Lieutenant Andre Duvalier has been accidentally separated from his regiment. He is wandering near the coast when he sees a young woman. He asks the road to Coldon, where he hopes to rejoin his regiment. But the woman doesn't answer, doesn't even greet him and walks away. Eventually she takes him to the sea, where she disappears in rough water. Andre loses conscience when he is trying to following her, and is attacked by a bird. He awakes in a house with an old woman and a numb man. She claims to never have seen the woman.

Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome (B&W - 1946): A gang of criminals, which includes a piano player and an imposing former convict known as 'Gruesome', has found out about a scientist's secret formula for a gas that temporarily paralyzes anyone who breathes it. When Gruesome accidentally inhales some of the gas and passes out, the police think he is dead and take him to the morgue, where he later revives and escapes. This puzzling incident attracts the interest of Dick Tracy, and when the criminals later use the gas to rob a bank, Tracy realizes that he must devote his entire attention to stopping them.

Island Monster (B&W - 1953): An Italian government agent is assigned to break up a drug smuggling ring on the island of Ischia but his daughter is kidnapped by the gang.

The Ape (B&W - 1940): An evil doctor, obsessed with curing a young woman of a dreadful disease, goes around injecting people with spinal fluid.

Juggernaut (B&W - 1936): Karloff plays an evil doctor who conspires with the wife of a man to slowly poison him for his money.

Sabaka (Color - 1953): In India, a young elephant trainer vows revenge against the cult that killed his family and, when the local Maharajah refuses to help, sets out alone to battle his enemy.

Mr. Wong In Chinatown (B&W - 1939): Based on the sleuth created by Hugh Wiley for Collier's Magazine. This third installment in the series finds a damsel in distress done in by a poison dart while seeking the detective's help. She turns out to be a princess and only the first in a series of baffling murders.

Doomed To Die (B&W - 1940): An action-packed detective movie about the mysterious fiery destruction of a luxury liner carrying 400 passengers and a contraband cargo of Chinese bonds. Boris plays the good guy for a change, a Chinese detective named James Lee Wong.

Mr. Wong, Detective (B&W - 1938): Mr. Wong investigates the murder of a chemical manfacturer who possesses a top secret formula for a lethal gas.
