1. It's a Rockabilly Christmas
Michael Bishop was regularly performing piano, guitar and singing with his brother Harold by the age of 10. In 1966 the Bishop brothers signed with Mike Curb's Sidewalk Productions where he arranged and performed Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil's songs for cult classic film "Wild in the Streets."
Later Bishop and his brother signed to 20th Century Fox as artists and writers with Pat and Lolly Vegas. As the Street Boys the Bishops released singles on
Johnny Halliday's label, DiscAZ. Michael was signed to Motown-Jobete Music, where the Supremes recorded his song "Loveline." Michael has
collaborated in writing and recording with artists Hunt and Tony Sales of Todd Rundgren, Iggy Pop and David Bowie groups; Blondie Chapin and Ricky Fataar of
the Beach Boys, The Ruttles, Bonnie Raitt and The Rolling Stones; Brian Roy of the Paul McCartney Band and with Latin pop artist Robby Rosa. For years Bishop
performed west coast punk music as John Q. Public, a moniker coined by John Mendelsohn of Rolling Stone Magazine. In 2005 Bishop returned to songwriting on
assignment of the country music genre with titles such as "Crashing into Heaven" and "Small Town Love." |
